Tank Background The application is generally related to tanks. In particular, the application relates to tanks for the transport and storage of liquid fuels. Splash plates may be used in such containers. Brief description The aim is a new type of tank for the transport and storage of liquid fuels. The solution according to the invention is characterized by what is said in the independent claim.
The container comprises at least one splash plate mounted diagonally from the first corner of the container to the second corner. By fastening the splash plate diagonally, better stability is achieved for the fastening. Preferred embodiments are subject to dependent claims.

N © 25 Detailed Description N The disclosed embodiments relate to a container and a splash = containing it.
a Containers are commonly used to transport, store or handle a variety of materials. The containers are used, for example, for transporting, storing or handling liquid substances. The container may comprise a hatch through which, for example, filling, emptying and / or maintenance of the container can be handled. Different instrumentation can also be installed in connection with the hatch, depending on the intended use of the tank.
The container may have an angular shape, for example, in which case it may comprise four, six or eight corners. The tank may comprise a bottom, walls and a roof. Any of these parts may be partially or completely removable or openable. Any of these parts may also have different or different sized hatches or other openings to be opened and / or closed. The hatch can be used, for example, as a crew hatch and / or can be combined with various instrument clusters and other means by means of which, for example, the contents or their properties can be monitored.
The container can be, for example, an IBC (Intermediate Bulk Container). IBCs are used e.g. for the storage and warehousing of liquid fuels, typically when the amount of fuel required is less than the amount normally transported by tanker, or when the need is temporary. In addition, the volume of an IBC is typically less than 3000], in which case the driver of the vehicle transporting it is not required to hold an ADR tanker license for the transport of dangerous goods. IBCs are made of, for example, metal such as stainless steel or structural steel such as S235 / S355.
IBCs are transported in different suitable vehicles one or more at a time. For example, packages are transported loaded in a container. The problem with transporting liquid substances is that, especially when an underfilled package can be very unstable when the free liquid surface starts to move due to, for example, braking and acceleration, a winding or bumpy road, or when transporting waves on a ship.
To stabilize the load, splash plates mounted inside the tanks can be used to restrict the movement of the contents of the tank. The splash plates can be made of metal, such as stainless steel or structural steel.
Splash plates can be of different shapes, with a surface, an edge and an end. The parasitic plates may have the shape of a rectangle, for example, rounded at the ends.
> Splash plates can be mounted diagonally. Diagonal mounting comprises mounting a splash plate across the container from corner to opposite corner. Diagonally mounted may also more generally mean obliquely mounted E as opposed to mounting directly from the opposite wall to the opposite wall.
S The advantage of diagonal mounting compared to wall-to-wall mounting is the better durability of the mounting. If the splash plates are mounted from the wall to the wall of the container, the problem may be its durability when the vibration caused by the forces encountered by the container during its movement or transport strains the fastening, possibly even causing the splash plates to come loose.
In one embodiment, the container comprises at least one splash plate attached diagonally from the first corner of the container to the second corner of the container.
Fig. 1 schematically shows an embodiment of a container 1 with a splash plate 2, seen from above and with the front wall removed. The splash plate is attached to the container substantially vertically. The advantage of the arrangement is that the corners of the tank withstand the forces acting on them better than the walls of the tank, whereby - the fastening is more permanent. A further advantage of the arrangement is that it provides more space for restricting the movement of the liquid in the container compared to the wall-to-wall mounting, whereby the load stabilizing effect is greater.
In one embodiment, the interior of the container is mounted to the corners of the plates 8, which baffles are attached. If necessary, the fastening plate can be mounted from the corner on both adjacent walls, whereby the fastening becomes more durable than when made on one wall or the like. The mounting plates can be mounted on the tank, for example by welding or other fastening. The mounting plates can be mounted substantially vertically or inclined slightly, for example - / + 25 degrees.
The fastening plates may comprise fastening members to which the splash plates can be fastened. The fastening member may be a device mounted on the fastening plate or to be connected, or it may be, for example, a hole. The holes can be of different shapes; for example, round, oval, triangular, square or rectangular. The diameter of the holes in the mounting plate may be the same as the diameter of the hole in the splash plate, or larger or smaller. The mounting plate may have one or more mounting points, so that the splash plates can be mounted in different places. Mounting plates can also be installed in different places.
> The mounting plates are made of, for example, metal such as stainless steel or structural steel. The fastening can be carried out with arrangements fixed to the corners of the tank other than the fastening plates, or the splash plates can be fixedly fixed directly to the corners of the tank.
o The container may also comprise various accessories to facilitate its movement, transport, use and storage. For example, the container may comprise support members 4 mounted in its upper corners N, which prevent lateral movement of the stacked containers in the lateral direction S35. For example, in the case of an angled container, the support members may be in the shape of corners, whereby the container to be packed on top of the lower container is located between these corners.
In one embodiment, the container further comprises a second splash plate, the second splash plate being mounted diagonally from the third corner to the fourth corner.
Figure 2 shows, for example, an embodiment in which two splash plates are attached to the container, the first of which runs diagonally from the first corner to the second corner and the second diagonally from the third corner to the fourth corner. According to one embodiment, the splash plates are fastened to each other by a fastening arrangement 3.
A frame formed by two splash plates restricts the movement of the liquid contained in the container and stabilizes the container during transport and transportation. The splash plates are mounted in the corners of the tank so that the area restricting movement is as large as possible. Splash plates can be installed substantially vertically or, deviating from this, tilted, for example - / + 25 degrees.
For example, the height of the splash plate used in the IBC package may be, for example, 20-120 cm or 40, 60 or 80 cm and its thickness may vary from 2 to 20 mm. The cross-sectional area of the plate can be 20-60% of the cross-sectional area of the container at the splash plate. The size of the containers may vary to be larger or smaller, and likewise the size of the splash plates may vary. If necessary, several spray plates can be installed in the tank. The splash plates can be mounted in the container according to Figure 2, so that at least one splash plate contained in the container is mounted at a distance from the bottom of the container. When the splash plates are attached at a distance from the bottom of the container, the lower part of the container is substantially uniform. The advantage of keeping the bottom of the tank uniform is that the liquid contained in the tank remains substantially uniform. Another advantage is the lighter structure compared to the splash plates from the bottom of the tank to the ceiling. The lighter design allows a larger amount of liquid to be loaded within weight constraints. = In one embodiment shown in Fig. 3, the splash plate 2 is formed of two removably attached parts 2a, 2b. The parts may also be E identical. The construction of a splash plate from parts is useful for moving and storing parts, as it is easier to handle smaller and lighter parts. In addition, the parts are stackable, so that the space required for them is smaller than for those otherwise stored. The advantage of the detachably mounted splash plates S 35 formed by the parts is also their easy removal from the container, for example during maintenance, and re-installation in the container through the door 7. It is also easier to replace worn or broken parts with smaller parts, and material is saved when it is sufficient to replace the broken part instead of replacing the whole. Splash plates can be made of, for example, metal, such as stainless steel or structural steel. One or more splash plates consisting of parts can be installed in the tank as required. The splash plate can also consist of one part, or more than two parts. The parts can be connected to each other inside the container or outside the container, in which case the frame thus obtained is mounted as such in the container.
Various methods can be used to fasten the parts of the splash plates to each other, as well as to the fastening plates located in the corners of the container, for example mechanical fastening, joining or locking. The fastening can also be done permanently, for example by welding. In the case of mechanical fastening, for example, bolt fastening can be used. In particular, in the embodiment where bolt fastening is used and oval holes are obtained, there is an advantage that the fastening can remain in the fastening, or a clearance is created over time, which reduces the stress on the fastening, thus making the fastening more durable.
Figure 4 shows a part of the splash plate seen from above. The part comprises fastening members for fastening at both ends. The fastening members located at the first end are intended for fastening one or more parts of the splash plate to each other. The first end of the splash plate may be formed by folding so that there is substantially sufficient space for the fastening members 5 used for fastening in the fastening edge 5 thus formed. The fold of the mounting edge may be at right angles, or greater or less than the right angle. For example, the formation of the fastening edge by folding has the advantage of saving work steps compared to devices to be added separately.
AN The fastening members 6 at the other end are intended for fastening parts or> splash plates formed of parts to the container. The fastening members may comprise various fixed or removable means such as fasteners, locks A 30 or holes of different shapes. The advantage of using holes is, for example, savings in work steps and material.
It is obvious to a person skilled in the art that with the development of technology the basic idea of the invention S can be implemented in many different ways. The invention and its embodiments N are thus not limited to the examples described above, but may vary within the scope of the claims.
